Is the Government Holding Money for You? Unclaimed Stimulus and Rebates Available This June

From unfiled claims to missed deadlines, Americans leave billions in public benefits on the table every year.

This June, a new wave of state and local stimulus programs are distributing direct payments to eligible residents—but many still don’t know they qualify.

If you live in Alaska, California, or Pennsylvania, here’s a breakdown of the unclaimed payments available right now, and what you need to do to receive yours before time runs out.

Alaska: $1,702 Dividend Payments Scheduled for June 18

Eligible Alaskans are set to receive a $1,702 payment from the Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD).

If you applied for the 2024 cycle (or earlier) and your status reads “Eligible – Not Paid” as of June 11, your payment will be processed by June 18.

How to claim:

  • Log into your myPFD account to confirm status and update your mailing or banking info

  • Do not use an out-of-state REAL ID, as this can affect your eligibility for future payouts

California: $725 Monthly Payments Begin in Sacramento

In Sacramento County, 200 families were randomly selected to receive $725 per month for a full year through the Families First Economic Stability Pilot (FFESP).

Key eligibility:

  • Families with children aged 0–5

  • Income at or below 200% of the federal poverty level

  • Must live in specific Sacramento ZIP codes

Application deadline has passed, but if you applied before April 27, you may have already been selected. Confirm your status if you haven’t heard back—payments begin June 15, 2025.

This is guaranteed income with no work requirement and no impact on other public assistance programs like CalWORKs or Medi-Cal.

Pennsylvania: Up to $1,000 in Rent and Property Tax Rebates Still Available

Pennsylvania residents who paid rent or property taxes in 2024 may be eligible for a rebate of up to $1,000, with applications accepted through June 30, 2025.

Who qualifies:

  • Individuals 65+

  • Widows/widowers 50+

  • People with disabilities 18+

  • Annual income must be below $46,520, excluding Social Security

What’s available:

  • $1,000 for incomes under $8,270

  • $770–$380 for moderate incomes

  • Bonus rebates between $190–$500 for residents in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Scranton

To apply: Gather proof of income and rental or ownership documents, and submit via the PA Department of Revenue before the deadline.

These Programs Only Work If You Claim Them

From dividends in Alaska to monthly payments in California and housing rebates in Pennsylvania, June 2025 is packed with opportunities for eligible families to receive direct financial support.

But these payments aren’t automatic for everyone. If you’re eligible and haven’t applied—or haven’t checked your application status—you could be missing out on hundreds, even thousands, of dollars in unclaimed money.

Check. Apply. Follow up.

These programs exist to provide relief. Make sure you get what you’re entitled to.
